MDW Dummy content generator

Page Generator

Written by Michał Krawczyk ,

Before you start - download and install MDWordPress Theme

If you haven't installed MDWordPress yet, go to Getting Started page and do it now.

Warning!

If you have active widgets in your Sidebars, it may affect the view of the DEMO. Additionally, DEMO view use your Navbar, Sidenav and Footer. Therefore if you don't want to see them in the DEMO page, make them disabled. If you don't know how to do that, click on each element, they will automatically move you to the proper tutorial lessons.

  1. Go to the MDW Config/General and then find the Page Generator tab.
  2. Now you see 5 different themes which can be generated. Each generated page will contain the dummy content. Everything will be generated on your WordPress. Choose one of the following:
    • Landing page
    • Portfolio Page
    • Magazine Page
    • Blog
    • Landing page

  3. Now Click Load button and wait for the link. Remember, that Magazine and Blog are very complex pages. Therefore it take a few moments to generate them, so don't be surprised, that they will not be loaded immidetely.

  4. How Page Generator works?

It creates random posts in your Post section and adds widgets to your widget area. It use different widgets for the different templates. There is a library for the posts, which are randomly choosen. Therefore if you generate eg. Magazine Page once again, it will contain different posts.

  5. Copy the loaded link and open it in a new tab.
  6. Once generated, you may edit all of the widgets which were in the Demo page. Go to the Appearance/Widgets and then find the area of the Demo page (eg. if you've chosen the Magazine page, widgets will be added to the Magazine Header, Magazine page widget area and Magazine sidebar).
  7. Note!

If you want to generate the same template once again, you have to use Clear all button. Then refresh the page and then generate the demo once again.
