Before you start
If you've skipped the lesson about the Page Templates, go back and learn how to add the Blog Template in
Pages. Without that, your Blog widget will not work at all.
- Go to the
Widgets. Find on the right side
MDW Blogwidget and drag and drop it in the
- Now let's edit your new widget. Choose the version which you prefer. Remember, that different versions have different features, therefore not everywhere you will be asked to add the title and the content or visibility of the share buttons. But everywhere you need to specify which category will be listed, what kind of animation you want, how box layout will look like and the amount of posts per page.
- If everything is ready, click
It's important to use
Blog widgetonly in the
Blog area. If you put any intro widget in the Blog area - it will work. However, it will be placed in wrong tags in your HTML code. In a result, your website positioning will be worse than usual.
Optional steps - setting the front page
- To use your Blog Template as a front page on your website, you have to change the settings. Go to the
- Near the
Front page displayslabel you can see 2 available options. Choose
A static pagethen select as the Front Page your page with a Blog template. Save the changes.
- To check if everything works properly, go directly to your homepage. You should see your posts displayed in a Blog version you've chosen.
