Typography

Written by Michał Krawczyk ,

This tutorial will be focused on typography. I will describe every single option available in the post section. Go to the Posts and Add New post. Name it. Now add some text. I have shown you how to add random text in the last tutorial. Now, let's present all buttons, starting with the top left one:

typography

  1. Bold
  2. Italic
  3. Strikethrough
  4. Bulleted list - every separate line of the text starts with a single bullet
  5. Numbered list - every separate line of the text starts with a subsequent number, starting with the "1".
  6. Blockquote is used when you need to insert a quote.
  7. The horizontal line is just a separator.
  8. Text align - left - content will be aligned to the left side of the page
  9. Text align - center- content will be aligned to the center of the page
  10. Text align - right- content will be aligned to the right side of the page
  11. The Link button is used to put the links inside your posts - click on a gear icon to see other link options. You may use any website address (put the web address in the "URL" and type the link label) or make a link to your other posts (click on the post you want to make a link to, and type the link label).
  12. This button removes links. If you have pasted text with the hyperlink, select link, then click Remove link.
  13. Read more is used, when you want to hide content and make it visible only if the user clicks Read more.
  14. This button allows you to use other options - if you click it, a new bar with additional options will toggle (or disappear, if you've already toggled it).
  15. Headings is useful if you need an addition heading for your post.
  16. Underline.
  17. Justify - it is an option use to make every line of your text end in the same place, so your content may look more orderly.
  18. Colors - you may choose basic colors or click Custom and get more hues.
  19. Paste as text is useful if you want to copy text from another source, but you don't want its formating - just content. Click the button, then copy any text, and paste.
  20. This button clears the text formatting. If you have already copied formated text, but you want to get rid of its formatting, select the text and click Clears formatting.
  21. Special character is useful if you need to put in the post any extraordinary character.
  22. Left Indent moves the text to the left
  23. Right Indent moves the text to the right
  24. Undo - erase the last change
  25. Redo - the opposite of undo
  26. Shortcuts - last but not least, button with the question mark is one you should definitely check out - it is a list of the very useful shortcuts, which will save you a lot of time.
